Windows blown from Garside second hand shop

Date published: 14 February 2014

During Wednesday’s storms, the windows of Garside second hand shop on Milnrow Road, were blown from their frames, causing them to land on a car.

It is understood that between 3:30pm and 4pm on Wednesday (12 February) a gust of wind blew and hit the shop causing the windows to come loose and fall out of their frames.

Owner of the shop, Rachel Garside said: “The wind just blew the side of the shop and the next thing the windows had been blown out.” Damage was caused to the panels of the car that the windows landed on.

The shop was open at the time of the accident. Luckily no one was hurt when the windows came loose. “I was in the back when it happened so I didn’t see it but I heard it'” said Rachel.

Currently, the windows are boarded up but the shop remains open as usual.

Rachel added: “Hopefully we will get it sorted soon but for now it is all boarded up.”
