Queens Park Road in Heywood to close for a week
Date published: 14 February 2014
Queens Park Road in Heywood is set to close for a week from Saturday 15 February to allow the Highways Department to undertake resurfacing work.
Rochdale Council is planning to shut the road from the bridge to the junction with Bury and Rochdale Old Road until Sunday 23 February.
A spokesperson for Rochdale Borough Council said: “Queens Park Road, from (and including) its junction with Bury and Rochdale Old Road, down to the bridge is being resurfaced. The road will be closed from Saturday 15 February until Sunday 23 February so that the work can be completed during the school half term holiday. A diversion route will be in place and clearly signed for road users.”
It is understood that the closure is taking place throughout half term week to try and minimise disruption to travellers and pupils at St Michael’s CE Primary School.
