Homes evacuated and roads closed due to gas leak

Homes have been evacuated and roads have been closed following reports of a gas leak in Castleton.
At about 5.20pm on Thursday 13 February 2014, police were called to Manchester Road in Castleton to reports of a gas leak.
Engineers from the National Grid are in attendance dealing with the leak and police are helping to evacuate residents from nearby homes and assist with road closures.
The M62 motorway has been closed between junction 19 and 20 in both direction, this will impact on the A627M at junction 20.
Manchester Road is also closed in both directions between Queensway and Slattocks Roundabout.
No one has been injured and the leak is currently being dealt with.
