Davina McCall stops at The Wine Press, Littleborough

Date published: 13 February 2014

TV Presenter Davina McCall made a stop at The Wine Press in Littleborough on Tuesday morning (11 February) as part of her 500 mile triathlon for Sport Relief.

Davina, who is currently making her way from Edinburgh to London via running, swimming and cycling, is taking part in the gruelling challenge over seven days to raise money for Sport Relief.

Davina stopped off at The Wine Press for about an hour giving her chance to refuel with some porridge and tea and get a massage before setting off again.

Francesca Stefanuto from The Wine Press said: “Even though she was shattered she was still very lovely and was still very happy.”

As well as feeding Davina, staff at The Wine Press were on hand to provide tea and coffee to members of the BBC crew and members of Davina’s team.

Francesca added: “We had tea and coffee for all of the crew as well. They came in first so we helped them and then sorted Davina out.”

After rest and recuperation, Davina left The Wine Press and was greeted by applause from onlookers at the Lake.

“A few people saw her as she was leaving and gave her a round of applause which was nice. She is so brave for doing this gruelling challenge,” added Francesca.
