Jordan Parr helps local resident after fall

Date published: 11 February 2014

Jordan Parr was on his way home from school recently, when he noticed that a local resident looked in distress and appeared to have fallen in the porch of her house and seemed to be injured.

Quick thinking Jordan rushed over and tried to give assistance to the lady. Unable to get to the pensioner, because the door had closed behind her, quick thinking Jordan went round to the back of the house to see if he could gain access – unable to do so Jordan returned to the front of the house and tried to reassure and comfort the victim through the letterbox. Jordan in the meantime had used his mobile phone to call for an ambulance.

The lady’s carer arrived soon after and when the ambulance crew arrived they assessed the extent of her injuries and treated the resident at the scene. The resident is now recovering well at home.

Ray Baker the Headteacher at Siddal Moor, where Jordan is a Year 9 student, commended Jordan on his quick thinking and public service. The family has since contacted the school to pass on their thanks and gratitude to Jordan.
