Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 24 January 2014

We started this week with a visit from M&M Theatre who performed Sleeping Beauty for our Reception children and the children from Springside Primary School. It was a magical performance and all the children had a lovely time.

Creativity Week starts on week commencing the 3 February. As part of the children’s IPLCN studies, the week is themed ‘Around The World in 80 Days’ and all the children in school will take part in learning activities through design and technology and art. We look forward to showcasing work to parents created by all of our children.

Today the children in Lower Key Stage 2 enjoyed a performance of ‘Grandpas Railway’. Our links with the M6 Theatre continue as our children enjoy so many opportunities to experience theatre performances.

We will be welcoming three students from the Manchester University who will be coming in to school as part of their ‘Pathways Placement’ for the next two weeks. Our school is looking forward to supporting these new teachers with their professional development and having the opportunity to show them the amazing work that goes on in our school.

All of our teachers will be attending maths workshops next week as we continue to constantly improve the levels of teaching and learning delivered to the children.
