Girls United at Old Trafford
Date published: 23 January 2014
Forty young women who attend Saturday fitness sessions provided by Rochdale Youth Service travelled to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play Sunderland yesterday (Wednesday 22 January).
In what has been described as a nail biting finish, the young women got to watch the spot kicks turn-by-turn and experience the full drama and emotion of the game.
Kayleigh Sanderson said: "It was an amazing night and experience. The atmosphere was great and the ground was buzzing. I was sad to leave with the result but loved every minute of it.
"Thank you to Rochdale Youth Service for giving me the opportunity.”
Youth worker Mohammed Sheraz added: “It was a great experience for young people at the theatre of dreams. I look forward to more future visits.”
The trip was organised by Rochdale Youth Service in partnership with Link4Life.
