Fire caused serious damage to house on Gower Street
Date published: 23 January 2014
A fire caused serious damage at a three storey terraced house in Gower Street, Wardleworth when an electronic tablet overheated after it was left charging on clothes.
Two fire crews from Rochdale and Littleborough arrived at 10.55 on 18 January to find the rear bedroom alight.
The crews used breathing apparatus and hoses to put out the fire and high pressure fans to clear smoke from the building.
The occupants escaped uninjured but there was 80% smoke damage to the house.
