Schoolchildren at Holy Family RC and CE College in Heywood have been learning about road safety.
Rochdale Borough Council's casualty reduction team provided lessons to around 600 pupils from Years 7 to 11, ranging from basic knowledge to information on learning to drive for the Year 11 age group, some of whom are only nine months away from becoming the next generation of drivers.
Robert Norwell, deputy headteacher at Holy Family, said: “We know from the responses we have received that students have found the visit to be informative, thought provoking and extremely valuable.
"We are very grateful for the work the casualty reduction team does in helping us to keep young people safe and aware of potential dangers.”
Councillor Jacqui Beswick, Cabinet Member for Place and Regulation, said: “These sessions really help to keep the next generation of drivers and pedestrians safe on the borough’s roads.
“Each year group received a different message with the content aimed at the pupils’ knowledge and behavioural habits.
“Rochdale was the second best improved local authority in the country for the reduction in road casualties in the latest figures and by continuing this sort of school based education we hope to continue with our positive record.”
