This week sees the launch of a new music key words competition. Entry forms have been issued in tutor groups and are available to download from the school website. The closing date for the competition is Friday, 1 February and the competition is open to all years. For more details speak to Mr De Courcey or Ms Williams.

Many thanks to Mr Booth, one of our Governors, who visited the CEPA faculty this week to observe lessons and speak with staff and pupils. We look forward to seeing him at one of our school shows very soon.

Year 11 Arts Awards students have the opportunity to showcase their visual and performing arts work in a forthcoming Arts Award Expo which takes place on Wednesday 26 February from 3pm until 4.45pm in our new heart space. The event has free admission and is open to parents, families and friends of school. Refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to see a range of visual arts and participating workshops.

Community groups in school have been able to take part in a theatre anagram quiz this week thanks to Mr Wilcock, our new CEPA technician. Solutions to the quiz have also been issued to form tutors.

Tickets for our forthcoming show, ‘See See TV’ are now available from the CEPA office at break times, lunch times and after school. Tickets are priced at £3.50 (no concs.) and are sold on a first come, first served basis.

Mr Mvula’s year 10 drama group continue to work with staff from Oldham Coliseum on the Andrew Lloyd Webber project and are starting to rehearse their performance piece. We look forward to seeing the drama later in the year.

We are delighted to learn that our ex-pupil Cara McGlinchey has secured a three year place at the Royal Conservatoire following her studies at Chetham’s School of Music. We wish her all the best for her career and her future.

Learners of all years are reminded of the importance of punctuality for the start of the school day. Any students who arrive late will receive detentions and form tutors will be notified.

Well done to our Year 10 and 11 students who received great GCSE results in the November entries. We are tremendously proud of you all.

Arts Award Gifted and Talented group starts on Tuesday this week after school in the heart space from 2.45pm until 4.00pm. For more details speak to Mr De Courcey.

A huge congratulations to our Year 7 Textile Learning Champions on fabulous work, and a great work ethic throughout the module. These students have shown great manipulative skills, fantastic designing and making. Along with a mature attitude to learning. Very proud of you all. Millie Ali, Asal Desfoul, Sadiyah Fiaz, Arsalan Khan, Adam Khan, Adam Mew, Marihah Nasir, Nabilah Rahman,and Humera Sohail.

Year 11’s you can find support for your controlled assessment, video and websites that may be of use. Revision classes and support will be posted here too.
