History trip to the Imperial War Museum

Date published: 22 January 2014

As part of Matthew Moss Faculty Learning Day, sixty Year 9 and 10 History GCSE learners visited the Imperial War Museum in Manchester.

Learners commented how much they enjoyed the experience and were surprised at how much they could learn to help with their studies.

The museum offers a ‘Big Picture Show’ every hour which tells real life stories and experiences of war, some learners didn’t want to leave and miss the next showing.

Another highlight was the watchtower which learners walked up to take in the views.

Some of our learners had a competition counting the steps and although they came up with anything from 125 to 260 steps; they all agreed it gave them a good workout!
