‘When the Lights Go On Again’ with Rochdale Amateur Operatic Society
Rochdale Amateur Operatic Society’s cast members have been dressing up and getting in the mood for their forthcoming show, a World War 2 musical called, ‘When The Lights Go On Again’ by Roy Sault.
The Society is very interested to hear from any individuals or organisations that may have any relevant props or costumes which could be used in the show. Please contact Kath Meredith on 01706 653185 or kathmeredith@yahoo.com
The society is taking a new approach to musical theatre as the audience is invited to dress up in appropriate 1940s attire and to sing along with the songs.
The story of the musical revolves around the Parker family and the impact the war has upon them all.
The show promises to make the audience laugh and cry as they follow the family through some difficult and fun times.
Rehearsals are in full swing and the company have a lot of fun numbers such as ‘The Lambeth Walk’ and ‘Kiss Me Goodnight Sergeant Major’ in store for the audience.
Rochdale Amateur Operatic Society has contributed to the musical and cultural life of the local area for over a century.
