Teenager breaks leg and shoulder fleeing assailants in Heywood

A 17-year-old boy suffered a broken leg and shoulder as he was struck by a car as he fled from assailants in Heywood.

Between 9.30pm and 10pm on Friday 10 January 2014, the teenager arranged to meet friends in a passageway opposite Iceland on Bridge Street before he was approached by two people

The victim was punched before he managed to run away. They gave chase and the teenager ran into the road on Bridge Street where he was struck by a car. He was taken to hospital suffering from a broken shoulder and leg.

His bike was also stolen after the chase. That is described as being blue framed, had white handlebars, red alloy wheels and black tyres.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
