High Street bank closed because of sewage leak
Date published: 16 January 2014
Barclays’ Bank on Yorkshire Street in Rochdale town centre was temporarily closed due to a sewage leak on Wednesday (15 January).
David Bruce, Head of Community Relations for Barclays’ said last night (15 January): “The bank will open again on Thursday (16 January) in some capacity.
“There was a sewage leak so we had to close the branch for health and safety reasons.
“We are doing everything to open the branch again tomorrow in some shape or form, even if it’s just a counter service.”
“Unfortunately it’s out of our hands at the minute. We’re just waiting to be given the go-ahead from health and safety.”
