New - Stay & Play Session for parents, carers & children 0-5 years

The staff from Howard Street Sure Start Children’s Centre will be holding a ‘Play and Learn Session’ each Tuesday afternoon during term time at our school. The sessions are for children aged 0-5 years. Please bring your child/ren along to these sessions and whilst they are playing enjoy a free tea or coffee and a ‘chat’. The sessions are each Tuesday (term time only) 1.30-3.00 p.m. in the community area of school.

Labels

Please label all your children’s clothing. We are increasingly finding items of clothing around school without names, therefore we are unable to get these back to their owners.

Outdoor Clothing

Please ensure your children are wrapped up warm in the very cold weather.

Packed Lunches

Please ensure that all packed lunches sent into school do follow the school guidelines for a healthy balanced lunch. As a reminder the guidelines are included below:

Packed Lunches SHOULD include:

A sandwich or equivalent e.g. wrap, rice, salad, pasta salad etc.
A drink of water, milk or pure fruit juice

Packed Lunches should NOT include:

Jam or chocolate spread sandwiches
Fizzy drinks or cordial
Bars of chocolate
Crisps of chocolate
Crisps more than once

Please check that your child’s packed lunch box is labelled with their name and class. All waste from packed lunches must be taken home, so that you are aware of what your child has eaten and drank at lunchtime.

UNICEF Rights of a Child
Rights Respecting Schools
“Rights” are things every child should have or be able to do. All children have the same rights. These rights are listed in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Almost every country has agreed to these rights. All the rights are connected to each other and all are equally important.
