On Friday 24 January our Year 8 Gifted and Talented pupils will take part in a ‘Space Day’ as part of our enrichment programme for our gifted pupils. They will learn about some of the fundamental Maths and Science behind space exploration, the solar system and space travel. They will also have the opportunity to build and launch rockets, visit an inflatable planetarium and attend a ‘Space Show’ delivered by an Astrophysicist. They will even get to sample astronaut food!

A reminder that Year 7 Parents’ Evening takes place on Thursday 30 January. You will be receiving an appointment time from school shortly. If you have any queries regarding Parents’ Evening please contact the school on 01706 645522.

Sport extra-curricular activities for this term are as follows:

  • Monday lunchtime for Year 9 students there is dodgeball and basketball.
  • Monday after school there is Year 7 Boys 5-a side football, All Years Girls multi-sports, Year 11 Boys football training and matches.
  • Tuesday lunchtime for Year 7 students there is table tennis, basketball and swimming.
  • Tuesday after school there is Year 7 & 8 Boys rugby, BTEC Distinction Club (for Year 10 and 11 students), Year 10 Boys football training and matches, All Years Girls football.
  • Wednesday lunchtime for Year 10 students there is Gym Club and badminton.
  • Wednesday after school there is All Years badminton, All Years Fitness Club, Year 9 Boys football training and matches, All Years Girls football, Year 7 Boys football training and matches, All Years cross country.
  • Thursday lunchtime for Year 11 students there is basketball and a GCSE intervention class.
  • Thursday after school there is All Years basketball, Year 7/8 cricket, All Years trampolining, Year 8 Boys football training.
  • Friday lunchtime for Year 8 students there is table tennis and basketball.
