Year 10 pupils went to the Manchester Medical Society Christmas Lecture. This year it was given by Professor D Nutt and was entitled "Drugs without the Hot Air". It explained the common addiction and damaging effects to alcohol and other legal drugs. It also explained the law on certain drugs with references to research on drugs and the deaths reported in the media. It was very informative and gave the pupils a good insight in to the topic. 

Year 3 completed projects about ‘Dinosaurs’ in English. They were all very informative and the standard of presentation was high.

The competition winners were:

3rd place Ruby Ainsworth and Gabrielle El-Hage
2nd place Anique Ali
1st place Joseph Bingham
Joe won a National Geographic Encyclopedia for Children.

Pupils from Beech House Year 9 and 10 went to Redbrook for some Squash coaching recently. The training was excellent and the pupils enjoyed using the facilities. Some pupils are keen to continue the sport.

Gymnastics certificates were given out in assembly to Essa Riaz, Anais Aston, Inaaya Ahmad, Aaron Rafique and Zak Gorton-Rigg

The House Point totals are:

Saturn 20, Neptune 14, Jupiter 12 & Mercury 7.

The form of the Week is Year 8.

Progress Award in the Lower Prep went to Sami Hasan (Year 2) and Shu Yu Zhao (Reception).
