The Year 5 children have been in Cumbria for the past few days at the Robinwood Activity Centre in Alston. They have had a wonderful time enjoying lots of exciting adventurous pursuits. Their behaviour has been outstanding and they have represented out School Community brilliantly. Thank you especially to Miss Graham, Mr Khan and Miss Birchenough for taking care of the children and ensuring that they all had a fantastic time.

The Citizens of the week for week ending 10 January 2014 are the Upper Key Stage 2 Unit for excellent attitudes towards their learning and each other and for demonstrating such flexibility whilst some of their unit were at Robinwood. Keep it up! Well Done!!

On Tuesday, our Year 5 and Year 6 children and staff enjoyed their Exit Point for “The Holiday Show” topic. We had lots of parents and families in school, they came in to share their children’s work and celebrate their successes so far this year. Thank you for supporting your children – they were thrilled to see so many of you in school.

It was lovely to welcome our new Nursery children into school this week. They have joined us on a staggered intake and we look forward to them settling in well.

Please ensure that any non-urgent appointments are made OUTSIDE of the school day. There were a significant number of children missing parts of the school day this week. In addition, it is not acceptable to turn up at school expecting to collect children before the end of the school day to accommodate non-urgent parent appointments. Please work with us to ensure that your child is in school for the whole of the school day to maximise their learning potential.

It is very important that any changes in contact details are given to the school office. Children will only be released to the adults specified on the contact forms. Thank you.

A reminder that, the Disabled bays are for Blue Badge Holders only. Please ensure that you are taking full responsibility for making the appropriate decisions.
