Do something amazing for children in 2014

Date published: 10 January 2014

The NSPCC is calling on people across Rochdale to sign up for the Bupa Great Manchester 10k run which takes place on Sunday 18 May through the city of Manchester, and is the North West’s biggest 10k event. The children’s charity has a number of charity places available for runners who wish to take on the challenge.

Claire Arnott, NSPCC fundraising manager, said: “The NSPCC has a number of guaranteed places on offer for the Bupa Great Manchester Run and we’d love to welcome you to our team.

“With the electric atmosphere of 40,000 other runners, the event promises to be one to remember. We can guarantee you a place on the starting line, offer you first class training support and give you the satisfaction of doing it for a fantastic cause. Sign up today and make you place count for vulnerable children across the region.”

NSPCC charity places are available on a first come first served basis. There will be a registration fee of £20 and a minimum sponsorship of £200. Every runner who signs up will receive a welcome pack, running vest, and expert training and fundraising advice. On the day there will also be a post-race reception, with food and refreshments for NSPCC runners to enjoy.

If you’ve already secured your own place in the run then you can still support the NSPCC by running and raising sponsorship for the charity and be part of the NSPCC team. You will receive the same support as the rest of the NSPCC’s runners. There is no minimum sponsorship commitment, just raise as much as you can. Call today for your free fundraising pack.

Claire added: “Every runner who joins the NSPCC team is guaranteed a really special day at the Bupa Great Manchester Run. Money raised by all our runners will help protect vulnerable children across Greater Manchester and the UK. We couldn’t continue to provide our services, which are a lifeline to many children, without the support of events like this.”
