Wardle Academy Christmas Musical Evening

On Friday 13 December 2013, Wardle Academy hosted its last musical evening in its current building.

All the school’s musical groups performed: the Intermediate Band, Folk Group, Choir, Training Band, Wind Band, Junior Band and Youth Band.

The Intermediate Band and Youth Band were conducted by Mr Lee Rigg, the Junior Band and Training Band were conducted by Mrs Gwen Smith and the Wind Band were conducted by Mrs Jane Conway.

The Folk Group was trained by and performed with Mr Cliff Woodworth, while the Choir was trained by and performed with Jocelyn Lavin. The evening was compèred by Mrs Janet Emsley.

The finale of the night was performed by the Youth Band with students from the past and present joining together to perform Slaidburn by William Rimmer.
