Genesis Daycare Nursery broken into

Date published: 08 January 2014

A nursery in Milnrow was broken into last night (Tuesday January 7) and money was taken from the cash register.

Genesis Daycare was broken into during the night and police have said that there was significant damage to the property.

“The break-in occurred between 5.00pm on Tuesday night and 7.00am on Wednesday morning,” said a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police.

“The padlock on the gate has been cut and there was evidence of forced entrance through the side door.

"Cash has been taken from the register and there is significant damage to the door and windows.”

Karen Bingham, the owner of the nursery, was thankful for the sympathy of the children’s parents: “We rang the children’s parents this morning to tell them to bring their children in a little later and they were really understanding.

“There was damage to three doors, one external and two internal, and we needed an hour to clear the glass this morning before the children could come in.”
