Air Ambulance lands in Dunphy’s grounds

Date published: 06 January 2014

An air ambulance landed at Dunphy’s at approximately 8.50am this morning.

Police have described a casualty found at an incident on Dicken Green this morning (6 January) as having ‘serious injuries’.

A spokesperson from Dunphy Combustion Ltd said that it was lucky the area was available: “The particular area where the air ambulance landed had been a building site until very recently, so it’s lucky that it was free for the ambulance to land on.”

“At the minute we don’t know much more about the incident,” he added. “We do know that a casualty was taken on a spinal stretcher to the air ambulance from the grounds of Dunphy’s.”

Phil Ewbank from Fix Auto, who was just moments away from the incident said: "An Air Ambulance just landed in Dunphy’s grounds on Queensway not sure what has happened."

Another eye witness said 'that there was “chaos” on the roads and that there were also ambulances and police cars in the area'.
