Dead of Night release second single

Date published: 27 December 2013

Dead of Night, the band fronted by local singer Courtney Cecere, have released their second single, ‘A Devil's Fairground Ride’.

The single, which costs 70p, is available to download and is a song inspired by Daphne from Scooby Doo.

Funds raised from sales of the single will go towards helping the band with future costs. Courtney’s mum, Tracy Tancock said: “They are saving up any money that they get and using it for things like videos and other costs that they might need in the future.”

The song, which was released on 21 December, has proven popular already and the band have seen a number of sales go through. Tracy added: “Everyone loves it. It is a really good song.”

Dead of Night have been working together as a band for six months and is made up of Courtney and one other member. Tracy added: “I don’t know how they do it. There are only two of them but they make it sound like there are more.”

This is the second single to be released by the band. The band's first single, ‘The Highwayman’, is still available for download and was released on iTunes and Amazon as well as through the band's own website.

Lead singer Courtney, who is 16 year old, is currently still a full time music student whilst performing with the band and describes herself on the band's website as an “enigmatic instrumentalist and songwriter”.

Tracy added: “She doesn’t do things by half. I am proud of everything that she has done and she is doing all of this as well as going to college.”

Dead of Night are currently working on their debut album, which they hope will be available in early 2014. “They have the album planned for next year so that is their big focus,” added Tracy.
