A Christmas surprise for Grace Tinarwo

Date published: 25 December 2013

Two year old Grace Tinarwo who is the inspiration for the £1million Appeal to build Grace’s Place, a new children’s hospice for North Manchester received a very special surprise on Christmas Eve.

Staff from Bury Hospice visited Grace at her home in Rochdale to deliver presents which have been donated by friends of the Hospice.

Chief Executive Jacqui Comber was grateful for the kindness of the public: "Grace has captured the hearts of the public since the launch of our appeal last month and we wanted to make sure the gifts reached her in time for Christmas Day.

"A special mention should also go the staff of Currys and PC World in Oldham who made sure Grace’s big sister Shalom didn’t miss out by making her wish for an I pad came true” She added, “The Tinarwos are a remarkable family and Shalom is such a great help to her parents. She was absolutely thrilled”.

Grace’s Place will be only the 50th children’s hospice in the country. It is currently under constructions on the site of the former Bury Hospice in Radcliffe. When it opens, it will offer end of life care for children from Oldham, Rochdale, and Middleton. Heywood and Bury.
