Full Contact Performance Centre Christmas Party

Date published: 21 December 2013

The Full Contact Performance Centre in Rochdale held their Christmas party last night (Friday 20 December) and brought the 1980s back into the 21st century.

The party, held at DeVine bar on Drake Street, was for members of the gym. Gym owner Martin Stapleton said: “We’ve booked the room for members of the gym to have a good night.”

Guests attended the party in fancy dress and dressed up in costumes including Batman, Superman, Beetlejuice, Popeye and the traditional army man costume, which ex marine Martin chose for the night.

Martin added: “We are in here until 1.00am, then we will be going for a curry and then who knows where the night will take us.”

The Full Contact Performance Centre is located on Queensway and came about five years ago when owners Martin, Derrick Cullen, David Hodkinson wanted facilities to train in for fights without travelling a fair distance.

The party was also held as a way for owners, staff and members of the gym to celebrate the success of the past year, which has been described as “awesome” by those at the gym. 2013 has been filled with fights, fitness competitions, events and big lifting for those at the Centre.
