Burglaries

A burglar stole a laptop from a house on Mentmore Road, Firgrove on Saturday 14/Sunday 15 December.

The offender(s) approached the house from a canal path at the rear of the property and climbed a six foot wooden fence to enter the garden. The offender(s) then approached a secure ground floor kitchen window and smashed the window by using a rock from the garden.

The offender(s) then entered the living room, and removed a laptop, before going upstairs and entering the main bedroom and took out a drawer from a bedside cabinet and emptied the contents onto the floor.

The offender(s) then went back downstairs, re-entered the kitchen, and ventured into the fridge, removing a carton of butter and a pint of milk and ice cream from the freezer.

The offender(s) exited via the back door having found a key for the door on the kitchen worktop.

A burglary was attempted on Clarke Street on Sunday 15 December.

The offender approached the front of the property, and used a brick to smash the ground floor kitchen window. The offender then reached inside and attempted to open the lock on the window. He was unsuccessful in doing this, as he was then disturbed by the police. The offender attempted to make off upon being disturbed, but was again unsuccessful, as he was detained by the police.

A burglary was committed on Copy Bridge Drive on Monday 16 December.

The offender(s) approached the property from the front, adjacent to the canal side,d smashed the ground floor lounge front window and removed the items from the window ledge, placing them in the front garden. The offender(s) then climb into the property and remove a laptop, but were unsuccessful in their attempts to climb over the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. The offender(s) made off with the property.

A burglary was committed on Ogden Street, Castleton.

The offender(s) entered the enclosed rear yard of the property and proceeded to use paving slabs found in the yard to knock the middle panel out of the back door on the ground floor. They then entered the address, and conducted an untidy search of the property; they caused no damage, but stole items from within. They exited via the entry point, and made a good escape.

A burglary was committed on Chichester Close, Littleborough on Tuesday 17 December.

The offender gained access into the rear garden of the property and smashed the lower glass panel of the rear door, which allowed him access into the home. Upon entry into the address, the offender carried out an untidy search of the rooms in the house, and on removing property, they exited the house in the same way they entered.
