LEAF wins funding

The Littleborough Rushbearing Festival, organised by Littleborough Events and Association Forum
Littleborough Events and Association Forum (LEAF) has won £500 of funding via Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving initiative after triumphing in a public vote against close to 1,000 applicants across the country.
LEAF is a community group set up four years ago by 15 volunteers. The forum combines several community groups in the area to organise events and projects much more effectively than by themselves. Combining their skills, knowledge and expertise, the group is responsible for most of the events in the area, such as the Christmas light switch on, the Pennine Proms, and the Littleborough Rushbearing Festival.
Stephen Lister, Chairman of the group, said: “We want to continue contributing to the social and cultural life in the town. Littleborough is recognised as being a tourist centre, we want to enhance this status and let it continue into the future.
"We’re thrilled we’ve received this funding. It’s causes like this which mean we can carry on doing what we do.”
