Rochdale Council Cabinet meeting as it happened

The first item on the agenda is regarding the adult and safeguarding committee.
Councillor Jean Hornby presents the report to cabinet regarding the safeguarding of adults at risk.
The board is due to become statutory in 2015.
There has been an 80% increase in alerts regarding people with learning difficulties.
The review of the asset strategy is up next.
Councillor Beswick presents the report.
Background states that at present the executive leader team approved the strategy in August.
The strategy has not yet been taken on board by the council.
The revenue budget is up next.
The report provides an update of a funding gap of £64.5 million.
Risks in the report include business rates, collection of council tax and other burdens.
It is stated that the report was written before the autumn statement was announced.
Capital Programme for the upcoming years is reported next.
The report will go to the Overview and Scrutiny committee and then to the township committee meetings in the coming weeks.
The report does not increase or decrease the funding gap previously reported.
