Last posting days before Christmas

Royal Mail is recommending that people post their Christmas goods that need to be delivered no later than Friday 20 December.

The last postage date for second class items is Wednesday 18 December. That includes second class post and second class items which need to be signed for.

The last postage date for first class post is Friday 20 December. That includes first class post and items that need to be signed for.

For those who like to wait right until the last minute, a final postage date of 23 December has been suggested for special delivery guaranteed items. This is a guaranteed service which guarantees next day delivery with Royal Mail. This service can be requested at your
nearest Post Office branch.

If you do miss the last postage dates, Royal Mail do offer a Royal Mail same day courier service which delivers 24 hours a day, seven days a week including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Postage will continue as normal up until Christmas Day with the last post being delivered as normal on Christmas Eve. Postal deliveries will then resume from Friday 27 December with no deliveries taking place on News Years Day.
