St. Cuthbert’s once again support Operation Christmas Child shoe box appeal

Pupils from St. Cuthbert’s have once again been supporting the Operation Christmas Child shoe box appeal.

Members from the school’s Creators team together with Year 7 Form Tutor Mr Sidlow, launched the appeal to Year 7 pupils in a special assembly back in October.

Pupils in other year groups also wanted to help and together they filled a grand total of 121 shoe boxes full of presents for children who would not otherwise receive any gifts this Christmas. As well as donating useful gifts such as gloves, tooth paste, tooth brushes and small toys, some pupils had also included letters, photographs and Christmas cards in their boxes to make them as personal as possible.

Area Co-ordinator, Carol Hartley, said she was delighted to be back at St. Cuthbert’s and told pupils that the boxes they had filled will be going to children and young people in Kyrgystan, the second poorest country in Central Asia.
