Woman found dead at home formally identified

A woman who was found dead at her home in Littleborough has been formally identified.
Shortly before midnight on Saturday 14 December 2013, police received a call from a public telephone reporting that a woman had been killed at a house on Calf Hey, Shore Road, Littleborough.
Officers attended and discovered the body of a 64-year-old woman, who has now been formally identified as Glennis Brierley.
She was discovered with visible stab injuries and a post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.
A 45-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody for questioning.
Police are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
