Ewan and Grace Horrocks help at the Matthew Moss pop up shop in Rochdale Emporium
Pupils from Matthew Moss High School have branched out into retail by setting up a pop up shop selling Christmas goods. The shop, which is located in Rochdale Emporium, is selling Christmas decorations, small gifts and prints designed by pupils.
Andy Horrocks from Matthew Moss High School said: “The shop has been set up by the technology department as part of the learning agenda.”
The shop will be open until Thursday 19 December from 11am-4pm and will be run by pupils from the school.
“We have struggled with pupils today with it being a Saturday but we will be getting them in next week to help with the running of the shop,” added Chris Jones, also from Matthew Moss.
Children involved in the project have made all of the items for sale in the shop and pupils at the school have also made packaging for each item.
“Everything is made by the pupils and everything is made in Rochdale, which is another good thing,” added Chris.
“It has been quiet today (Saturday 14 December) but we’re hoping it picks up later on and throughout the week,” said Andy.
The shop will only be open until Thursday 19 December.
