Grand Charity £2,800 Springhill Hospice donation

Date published: 11 December 2013

Springhill Hospice has received a donation of £2,800 from The Freemasons’ Grand Charity. All donations are raised by Freemasons and their families and aim to assist hospices in their vital role in helping those affected by terminal or life limiting illness.

Speaking about the donation to Springhill Hospice, Peter Hewitt said: “Every year Freemasons all over the country work together to provide funding for hospice services.

"The care provided by our local hospices is exceptional, but financial support is fundamental to ensuring a continued good service.

"We recognise the vital role hospice plays within our community here in Rochdale and that is why we are so happy to continue with our support in 2013”.

The Freemasons’ Grand Charity is a grant-making charity dedicated to supporting people in need, having donated more than £100 million since 1981. The Charity provides grants totalling nearly £8 million each year in the areas of: medical research; support for vulnerable people; youth opportunities; hospice services; air ambulances; and disaster relief, as well as providing assistance to Freemasons and their dependants in financial need.
