Oulder Hill Community School

Date published: 11 December 2013

On Monday 2 December we took 50 Year 11 Art students to the Liverpool Tate. The students created sketches and notes from the gallery visit to meet their assessment objectives and to gain inspiration for their 5 hour mock exam. Their behaviour and attitude was excellent as always and they truly were a credit to the school.

We will be holding our Christmas Fair on Monday 16 December. We are also selling Christmas raffle tickets, which are available to buy from Ms Tracey.

This week, Year 10 and 11 students will be taking their controlled assessments in English Language and English Literature. Students taking Music as an option in both Years 10 and 11 will also be undertaking their controlled assessment, and Year 11 Drama students will be doing their controlled assessment as well.

On Wednesday 18 December we will be hosting our Community Christmas Lunch. Students have nominated family members and friends to join them for entertainment and a two course Christmas meal. We will also be joined by guests from five of our local care homes. We would like to thank Grosvenor Facilities Management, the Rochdale Rotary Club and Asda Rochdale for helping out on the day and donating prizes .

School closes for the Christmas holidays at 1:00pm for students on Friday 20th December. We would like to wish all our parents, carers, students and staff a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We look forward to welcoming you all back to school refreshed and ready to learn on Monday 6 January 2014.
