Cllr Andy Kelly, Liberal Democrat Group Leader
The Liberal Democrat group leader on Rochdale Council, Andy Kelly, is advising caution regarding the Labour Group amending their proposal for senior council executive pay rises.
Councillor Kelly said: “The Labour group is making an amendment to the Employment Committee report which is a Labour lead committee so in effect they are changing their own report.
"This is about the fourth-u turn and I think we are going to wait and see what happens in the next 24 hours because it could all change again.
“Six weeks ago we recommended the pay rise be at 1% so it looks like the Labour group are taking a Liberal Democrat stance on the matter.
“It is just a complete waste of time, money and effort for everyone involved but we’ll see what happens tomorrow because it could all
change.”
