Date published: 09 December 2013

Councillor Billy Sheerin had his car stolen from outside The Curtain Theatre on Milkstone Road yesterday (Sunday 8 December).

Councillor Sheerin’s coat was also stolen which had his car keys, door keys and theatre keys in.

Councillor Sheerin said: “I am absolutely gutted. It is the last thing I need at this time of year.”

The theft is believed to have taken place between 12:15pm and 5pm.

It is understood that the thief walked into the theatre and took Mr Sheerin’s coat which was hanging near the stage and then drove the car off in the opposite direction.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Police are currently investigating the theft of a Volkswagen Bora from outside
The Curtain Theatre on Milkstone road on Sunday.

"It is believed to have happened between 12:15pm and 5pm with the theft of a coat also taking place.

"We believe that the thieves made off in the vehicle in the opposite direction.
