Mayor supports Littleborough Farmer's Market and Craft Fair

Date published: 08 December 2013

The Mayor of Rochdale, Peter Rush and the Mayoress, Monica Rush called visited Littleborough Farmer’s Market and Craft Fair to do some shopping on their way from the Springhill Hospice Charity Run at Hollingworth Lake before heading on to the Pantomime at the Gracie Fields Theatre.

Littleborough Square was filled with food stalls and craft stalls were on both floors of Littleborough Conservative Club.

The farmer’s market was enhanced by the presence of the fresh fruit and vegetable stall “Farmer’s Best” and the fresh fish from “Marina Quay Fisheries” - Littleborough is at present without a greengrocer or a fishmonger and these stalls were in great demand.

“Farmer’s Best” will be in Littleborough Square on 24 December from 8.00am to 12.00 noon to make certain that Littleborough Residents can have fresh vegetables with their Christmas meals.

The market is organised by 'LEAF' (Littleborough Events and Associations Forum).

LEAF was set up four years ago and is run by 15 volunteers, with the aim of developing the social and cultural life in the community.
