Date published: 06 December 2013
Four local men have appeared at court charged with metal theft offences.
Garry Dolan (15/4/70) of Middleton, Anthony Foster Jnr (1/2/88) of Rochdale, Anthony Foster Snr (23/11/63) of Norden and Lee Tomlin (8/11/86) of Littleborough appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court on Thursday 5 December.
The four are facing charges ranging from attempting to receive stolen goods to assisting others in the commission of a criminal offence and have been bailed to appear at Bolton Crown Court on Friday 20 December.
The charges followed a large-scale, lengthy operation carried out jointly by British Transport Police and Greater Manchester Police.
Operation Rhondda saw officers from both forces targeting scrap metal dealers across Greater Manchester who were believed to be involved in criminal activity.
