Warning of snow and ice
Date published: 06 December 2013
Car theft increases on icy mornings
Ice will readily form on untreated surfaces from dusk on Friday.
A band of mainly light and patchy snow will also push in from the west during Friday evening.
It will slowly turn to rain at most levels overnight as milder air pushes in from the Atlantic, but a short period of rain falling onto frozen surfaces is possible adding to the ice risk.
Locally, one to two centimetres of snow is expected, perhaps five centimetres over some of the higher routes.
