Littleborough businesses targeted by burglars

A number of businesses in Littleborough have been the target of burglars over the past few days. At least four businesses have been broken into since Friday 30 November.

The latest victim is Warburton Estates, which was broken into on Tuesday (3 December) night. The shop was described as a “right mess” by its owners.

On Friday 30 November, Village Bakery on Hare Hill Road was broken into with the thieves stealing £2,000 from the safe.

On Monday 2 December two Littleborough businesses were broken into: Littleborough Deli, also on Hare Hill Road, had three charity boxes stolen with the owners stating that “they rummaged around under the till but we didn’t have anything. They left it a mess.”

Tropical Tans on Featherstall Road had their back door kicked in and their till stolen on the same day.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “On Saturday 30 November between 3.30am and 4.45am offenders gained entry to the property on Hare Hill Road and took cash.

"On Monday 2 December between 11pm and 11.15pm offenders forced open the door of a property on Featherstall Road and took the till and cash box containing cash.

Also on Monday 2 December, between 11.30pm and 5.20am on Tuesday 3 Dec, offenders have forced open the door of a property on Hare Hill Road and taken charity boxes.
Between 4.30am and 6.55am on Wednesday 4 December, offenders have smashed a glass door to enter the building on Winton Street and taken cash and a digital camera.

"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.”

Rebecca’s Coffee Shop, on Hare Hill Road, was broken into in October with thieves breaking their way into the shop through the back door and stealing money as well as breaking coffee machines and ransacking stock.
