This year’s school production, “Our House: The Madness Musical”, was held last week and was a huge success. We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and students involved in making the production such a huge success.

The show was enjoyed by all, with one of our community partners commenting: “What a wonderful production. The pit band was nice and tight and well disciplined. The principal characters were extremely well cast and the vigour and enthusiasm from all the members was a delight. The whole evening was a credit to the school and all who played a part in its production.”

Our new Extra-Curricular & Extended Learning Opportunities booklet is now available on our website. It can be found under the School Life section of the website on the Extended School Provision page. Hard copies are also available from the school Reception or via your child’s Form Tutor. The booklet details our full programme of extra-curricular activities along with other opportunities your child(ren) may want to get involved with. We actively encourage all our students to engage with our extended learning programme and we hope there is something that catches their interest. If you or your child(ren) have any suggestions which could enhance our activity list we would be interested to hear from you.MrD. Armitage, Community & Partnerships Director.

Oulder Hill came third in the Rochdale Schools’ Swimming Gala, which took place last week. Well done to all the students who participated in the event.

On Wednesday 27 November 24 Year 10 pupils undertook a medical session with Manchester University students to see what a medical career and its training was like. All pupils enjoyed this thoroughly with workshops ranging from suturing to CPR. It offered a real insight into what their potential futures may hold. It was made extra special by one of the trainers being an ex-student who is currently in their first year of medicine.

We would like to thank all the students and parents, carers and friends of the school who attended our Celebration Evening on Thursday 5 December. The evening was a huge success, and a big well done to all who won prizes on the evening,
