Send a letter from Santa for your child this Christmas

Date published: 04 December 2013

For four year old Noah Dart, Christmas is the highlight of his year. Noah doesn’t know it yet, but Santa is writing him a special letter which Noah will receive before Santa visits on 24 December.

Many people don’t realise that stroke can happen to children and babies. Noah is one of hundreds of children in the UK who have a stroke every year. He was just 17 months old when he was struck by a stroke. He was unable to walk or sit up and his parents were told to prepare for ongoing problems. Incredibly, Noah has now almost fully recovered. But many other families touched by stroke are not so lucky.

In order to fund vital research and provide support to other families like Noah, the Stroke Association is asking for donations so that Santa can send a personal letter, by sleigh mail, to children across the UK as a special surprise. If it’s your baby’s first Christmas then Santa can even write a letter to celebrate this occasion too.

Santa’s letters, complete with magic dust, will be posted in hand written envelopes between the 28 November and the 16 December 2013 for a £5 donation to the Stroke Association.

Louise Kay, Community and Events Fundraising Manager for the Stroke Association in the North West, said: “There are hundreds of children living with the devastating effects of stroke across the UK. Health and education professionals don’t always understand the needs of children with strokes, as childhood stroke is relatively uncommon. That’s why a five pound contribution will enable your child to receive the most exciting letter of their year and help fund vital research as well as support thousands of people who will be coping with the effects of stroke this Christmas.”
