Mayor’s Civic Carol Service
Date published: 03 December 2013
The Mayor, Councillor Peter Rush, is hosting the Civic Carol Service at St Joseph’s Church in Heywood at 7pm on Wednesday December 11, followed by mulled wine and mince pies at Heywood Civic Centre.
The special service, which is being organised in conjunction with Churches Together, will feature traditional Christmas carols.
There will also be a collection for the Mayor’s charity appeal, which is raising funds for Rochdale Branch of Parkinson's UK and other local charities.
Mayor Rush said: “We are expecting a large turnout as the Civic Carol Service is always a special occasion and really helps to get people in the mood for Christmas. I hope as many people as possible will come along and enjoy the service.”
The carol service is free and begins at 7pm - guests are asked to be seated by 6.45pm.
As is traditional at the event, following the service everyone is invited to join the Mayor for a drink and warmed mince pie at Heywood Civic Centre.
