Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 29 November 2013

Our Year 5 children who are in the IPLCN ‘Reading University’ went to Rochdale Library on Friday afternoon to take part in a reading workshop. Thank you to Miss Bradshaw and Mrs Hoyle for organising this opportunity for our children. We look forward to their ‘graduation’ at the end of Year 6!

On Sunday, a number of Year 3 children, parents and staff from Hamer will be taking part in the ‘Reindeer Parade’ in Rochdale town centre. Please meet at 11.30am on the Social Services car park – as per letter. Thanks to Miss Mullane, Miss Ahmad, Mrs Forest and Mrs Terry for supporting the children on Sunday. It was great to see so many parents at the workshop earlier this week and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Thanks to Mrs Casey for supporting the workshops and Mrs Terry for organising the event. We will be one of only five schools in Rochdale who will be parading through the Town Centre alongside real reindeers and resplendent in their reindeer head dresses.

We now have a Numbers Count Teacher who works with Key Stage One children to plug the gaps in terms of number. Parents of those children involved are being invited to come in and observe their child being taught. Please do take us up on this opportunity!

The cold weather is upon is. Please make sure the children has a warm coat and a hat, scarf and gloves if possible. Please write your child’s name in these items as it can get confusing when there are many items without names in them. Thank you.
