Getting Involved

Littleborough Community Primary School Council would like to thank everyone who was involved in our ‘Children in Need’ pyjama day on 15 November. We raised a grand total of £616.00 and we are very proud to be helping so many other children. Well done to everyone!

Once again we are holding our ‘Cake Decorating Competition’. This will be on Monday 2 Dec, and will be judged by Lesley from ‘Classy Cakes’ in Littleborough. The cakes MUST have been made and decorated by the children, and can be brought into class at registration on the Monday morning. The children will have the opportunity to view them during the day, after they have been judged. Cakes may be collected by the children from the meeting room at the end of the day. Winners will be announced during assembly on Friday 6 Dec.

Please be reminded that there is plenty of information on the schools website, including dates for your diary, e-safety and helpful hints and information about helping your child with Maths and Literacy – www.littleborough.rochdale.sch.uk

During Anti-bullying week your child has been learning about cyber bullying. Useful websites include www.beatbullying.org and www.bullying.co.uk/advice-for-parents/
www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Bullying/Pages/

Please remember that children under the age of 13 should not be accessing Facebook and other social networking sites, even through their parent’s log in.

Please encourage your child to use student jotter. If they are in Yr4, 5, 6 they will have been given a log in and a pack to bring home in the last academic year. This was to show you and your child how to use student jotter as a social networking site, following the schools e-safety rules. Student jotter also holds your child’s targets for Y2, 3, 4, 5, & 6.

As has been the tradition for hundreds of years, we will once again hold our annual Carol Service and Fancy Dress. This year’s fancy dress will be judged by a professional ‘theatre costume’ designer. Please note only homemade costumes will be paraded, and in the running for a prize.

If there are any parent’s who would be able to help us out financially, by ‘matching any funding’ we manage to raise, we would love to hear from you. In the past we have been lucky enough to have some parent’s who either own a business or work for a business that have been kind enough to either ‘fund match’ or ‘sponsor’ us. Please contact the school office if you can help in any way.

Please be aware that the Reception pets may be taken home at weekend and holiday’s by anyone in school. If you are interested please see Mrs Coupe.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Irene Butterworth for seventeen years service in our school kitchen. We wish her well in here retirement.

Thank you to all the children who took advantage of our Bonfire lunch, many children have decided to have school dinners since this event, keep it up!
