Date published: 24 November 2013

Electric Lounge performed to a full house at The Flying Horse, Rochdale on Saturday evening (23 November).

The line up consists of Lucy Norbury, Matt Wilmot, Dave Butterworth, Thom Fripp and Phill Lane. Before their performance, they sat down with Rochdale Online to talk about the band.

Dave Butterworth, the accomplished young bassist of the band,  said: “We’re excited. It is the first time here for the band but I know it is a good place to play.”

“We have gone through a number of line ups but this is the right one now.

“It takes a lot of hard work to find the right people,” said Phill Lane, drummer of the band.

Electric Lounge play a variety of pop covers during their performances and play two sets at 45 minutes long. “We use the charts as a guide to what to play and we like to play stuff that is popular,” said vocalist, Lucy.

For the Flying Horse set, the band chose a chilled variety of songs. Dave said: “It is a chilled set but there are still songs that get people dancing.”

The band play a mixture of venues all over the country but enjoy playing to a home town crowd. “We like to play to a local crowd, but don’t get me wrong, we also like playing far away as well,” said Dave.

The band, who are all friends, have one vision and that is to play great music whilst entertaining people. The band also offers two different styles of music. Either all acoustic songs or a set filled with a more electric style of drums and electric guitar.
