The Year 7 Boys football team lost a closely fought match against Holy Family 4-6 last week. The Year 9 Boys football team beat Matthew Moss 11-0, the whole squad played well with the goals split between four players, and Man of the Match was Joe Wrest for showing great vision when passing the ball and rarely giving away possession.

The Year 9 Girls football team had their first games of the league season in a busy evening over at Matthew Moss. The girls beat Middleton 2-0, drew 1-1 with St Anne’s, drew 0-0 with Siddal Moor and lost 1-0 to Hollingworth.

The Year 8 Girls’ Football League took place on the same day, they drew 0-0 with Siddal Moor, lost 1-0 to St Anne’s and lost 3-1 to St Cuthbert’s.

Well done to the Year 11 badminton team who got to the final of the Rochdale Schools badminton competition. The team consisted of Tom Smeeton, Daniel Harrall, Nathan Colclough and Adam Deaville. The boys coasted through their group without dropping a game, beating Kingsway Park and Holy Family on the way. They then played a strong Hollingworth team in the semi-final and only lost two games to earn a place in the final.

The boys played fantastically well and were extremely unlucky not to beat Middleton Tech in the final who boasted some established club players. As beaten finalists Oulder Hill will now go forward to represent Rochdale in the Greater Manchester School Games. Well done lads!

We would like to thank the parents of Year 11 for attending our recent parents evening and taking the time to fill in the feedback form concerning the recent interim reports that were sent to you with your child. The relationships that we have with our parents is of the utmost importance to us. The overwhelming majority of feedback was really positive and we thank you for your continued support! If you still have forms to fill in and wish to return them, it is not too late, send them with your child for the attention of Mrs Sanderson. Thank you.
