Free car parking in town centre over Christmas and New Year

In what is sure to be a major boost for town centre retailers as Christmas shopping gets under way, Rochdale Borough Council has announced that from Saturday 14 December to Sunday 5 January parking will be free after 10.00am on all council car parks, including the bus station multi-storey car park.
Delphine Greenhalgh, Rochdale President of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, commented: "Fantastic news for local retail."
