Date published: 18 November 2013
Members of The Deeplish Girls Group and The Spotland Boys Groups worked together to raise £177.03 for Children In Need on Friday 15 November. The groups organised an evening of games and face painting to raise money for the charity.
Games included name the teddy and a sweet stall was selling sweets to people in attendance.
Sara Khanzada said: “We came together to organise this event to raise money for disadvantaged children who may be suffering.
"This charity helps children throughout the UK and provides services and support as
required.”
Youth Worker Mohammed Sheraz said: “This was a good event to come together and raise money for a worthy cause and it was especially good to see young people taking a lead role. Our young people have shown that they can actively get involved and arrange charity events and this gives them the opportunity to develop their self confidence and self esteem as well.”
The event was run with help from Rochdale Youth Service in partnership with
Link4Life.
