Congratulations to Ikrah Begum (P11), Ali Asjhraf Hussain (O7) and Millie Ali (C4) who were the winners of the CEPA Faculty and ‘Design a Costume for Dracula’ Competition this week. Each of the winners received a certificate, stationery and a chocolate treat prize. Well done to everyone who took part in the competition.

Well done to the learners who attended the theatre visit to see ‘Wicked’ this week at The Palace Theatre. The group were treated to a truly spectacular show and everyone enjoyed a lovely evening.

Tickets for our ‘Arts and Curry Night’ are available from school priced at £5.00 (no concessions). They can be purchased via learners or directly from the school reception. The evening features a range of dance, drama and music and there are several fun quizzes for the family to enjoy too! Food will include a range of vegetarian and meat curry dishes and rice and some Indian savouries too. For more details, please see Mr. DeCourcey.

Students in CALL lessons are about to begin a nationally recognised ‘E-Safety’ session, leading up to assessment over the next few weeks. The scheme will make learners better aware of internet safety and social networking online. The sessions will finish with an online assessment and each learner should receive certificates upon completion.

Many thanks to the Dental Team who joined us this week to undertake a dental survey with many of our learners. The team joined us for the week and students completed a range of questions as part of a national survey. Thanks to Ms. West for organising the week.

Well done to all our former Year 11 learners who joined us for our Year 11 Leavers Awards Evening at Rochdale Town Hall this week. The evening was a lovely opportunity for staff and learners to meet once again and to formally celebrate the academic success of many of our learners. We wish them well as they continue their careers at college and move on.
